How We Work

Verification before amplification.

PAPER TRAILS™ does not promise that every statement is objectively true. We promise a process, and we’re honest about what we can and cannot verify.

01

Submission

We review the storyteller's summary, timeline, evidence, and reason for speaking now.

02

Screening

A private conversation helps us understand the full story, its risks, and whether it fits the platform.

03

Research

We examine available records, reporting, documents, images, and corroborating sources.

04

Approval

Only stories that meet the PAPER TRAILS™ Verification Standard move forward to production.

The standard

Before a story is published, it must clear a clear bar: the storyteller’s identity is confirmed, and the core facts are supported by independent, credible evidence. Or, where that isn’t possible, the account is clearly framed as the storyteller’s own and carries no unacceptable risk. Evidence may include public and court records, reputable news coverage, official documents, photographs, messages, and independent witnesses.

Not every memory can be proven. When a core fact can’t be independently verified, we tell you plainly what we could and could not confirm. Some stories publish with that transparency. Some do not publish at all.

Verification Notice

The following story is told from the perspective of the storyteller.

PAPER TRAILS™ makes a genuine effort to verify the identity of every storyteller and the core facts presented before publication.

Some names, locations, or identifying details may be withheld or altered to protect privacy, personal safety, or legal obligations.

The views expressed are those of the storyteller.
