About
Understanding begins by listening.
PAPER TRAILS™ was created because we believe people deserve the opportunity to tell their story in their own words. Not because every storyteller is right, but because understanding begins with listening.
Modern media rewards speed over understanding. People are reduced to headlines, clips, and comments, often decided before they’ve spoken a single word. PAPER TRAILS™ exists to slow that down. Not to excuse. Not to condemn. To understand.
We are not built around crime. Crime is only one kind of story. We document people: survivors, families, former offenders, first responders, entrepreneurs, artists, and everyday people with extraordinary experiences. The unifying subject is the human story.
The Storyteller
Everyone who sits down with us is a Storyteller. Not a guest, not a subject. Because every person is trusted with telling the story only they can tell.
The Listener
PAPER TRAILS™ is hosted by Tray D.
The host’s role here is called The Listener. Not a prosecutor, therapist, or judge. The Listener asks thoughtful questions, notices details, allows silence, and keeps the focus where it belongs: on the storyteller. The audience listens along with us.
Our promise
We listen before we speak. We let storytellers tell their story in their own words. We make a genuine effort to verify identity and core facts before publication. We never intentionally misrepresent a story through editing. When we don’t understand, we ask.
